To learn what’s at stake for New Yorkers, plan to attend The Constitutional Convention Debate on September 25, 7-9 in the Borg-Warner Room at the Tompkins County Public Library, 101 East Green Street, Ithaca. Speakers are Dr. Henrik N. Dullea, Vice President for Community Relations Emeritus, Cornell University and Barbara Lifton, NYS Assembly Representative for District 125. The event is sponsored by the Tompkins County Chapter of the League of Women Voters. It is free and open to the public.
October 2, 2017 -- Understanding the NYS Constitutional Convention and Referendum 6:30 p.m.-8:30 pm at the Southeast Steuben County Library, Corning .Learn about the NYS Constitutional Conventions and the upcoming November 7 referendum. Two distinguished political science scholars will talk about the history, process, delegate selection, and function of the state constitutional convention and referendum as well as current issues. Hear how the institution of the periodic constitutional convention referendum can play a vital democratic role. There will be a Question and Answer period
and an open mic session for the audience.
